I write this because I am troubled as a Mom looking at a fine young man like Tiger Woods. I am troubled because somewhere that Mom’s son lost his his confidence and courage.
I was watching television and I saw the glee in which the announcers showed Tiger’s pitiful showing in the recent tournament. As a Mom with sons I became agitated in my heart and I was moved with compassion for you.
Then I was appalled by the comments of the fired caddy ” who said he wasted 2 years of his life with Tiger”. A person who was paid caucasian employee.
It’s time to get out of the fog and get into the light. I am not concerned about the race of the women you choose. Though I so believe that your problems media wise would be fewer with a beautiful Asian or black woman who looked Caucasian .
But, notwithstanding make your choices with some wisdom.
One of the traits I so admired about you that I would make reference to to my sons was your ability to focus and not be distracted.
What happen Tiger? What would your Pop have advised you? Why can’t you quiet the voices in your head and be the great athlete that you are?
It’s time to pray. The good Lord doesn’t want you to leave a legacy of defeat.
Every young man must go through the rites of life of becoming a man. Becoming a man not just in age or physically but in spirit and in mind.
Life will bring tough times even to the best but, you get up.
In that eurasian ethnicity lies at a heart the soul of a Black man. An African American man whose mantra
is as Maya Angelou says in one her poems”Still I Rise”.
Are you surrounding yourself with those who will help you rise? Look at those around you. Are those the attributes you want to have? Look at those around you can you determine who is authentic- who is real.
Certainly, you are not the first man to have an affair not will you be the last. You may wonder why was your public image lynched before the world.
The answer is simple.
You are still a Black man with white women. As long as your Pop is black and you have a drop of Black blood, they-jealous men will attempt to castrate you if not physically most definitely mentally.
They do not have to succeed.
Now as a Mom, an African American Mom I would tell you ” Get from wallowing with the chickens- low life’s young man and shake it off”. You are not what they say you are.
Get up and pray Lord help me be the man you want me to be. Thank the good Lord and Keep looking up. Get rid of the weights of life the easily beset you. No one has done you a favor. But by the grace of God you earned the place in history of being a champion golfer.
Go get the history books and read about the Black Men and Black women that made it against the odds. Now get up and go on , boy.
Your professional life will change and improve as you grow and develop in your personal life. You can’t get any higher than your personal development in the heart and head.
